About CITS Admission 2026-27
Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS), a program designed to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to become an instructor. The CITS courses are being conducted under the aegis of Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of the scheme is to train instructor trainees in the techniques of transferring hands-on skills, in order to train semi-skilled/skilled manpower for industry.
A candidate trained under CITS scheme will be capable of working as –
- An instructor in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) , imparting efficient skill training,
- A certified instructor for delivering training under short term and long term schemes.
- A training coordinator in industries to facilitate skill development among workers
- A professional who can compete in the field of vocational training in the global market.
- A developer of Written Instructional Materials (WIM) and e-learning content for vocational
training.
All India Common EntranceTest (AICET) For CITS Admission 2026 :
DGT conducts the All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) for admission to the Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) which is a essential gateway for aspiring individuals looking to pursue a career in the field of vocational training and education. This entrance test serves as a standardized assessment platform to evaluate candidates’ knowledge, skills, and aptitude in various technical and instructional aspects required of a craft instructor. All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) is being conducted online followed by a centralized counselling process which ensures the efficiency in the allocation of seats based on merit and preferences of the applicants.
Eligibility Criteria & Entrance Examination Fee:
